Yirgalem Addis Textile Factory has a long and dynamic history within the Ethiopian textile industry.
The factory was originally established in 1954 E.C. (1961 G.C.) by a Greek investor under the name Lazaridis Cotton Mills LTD S.C. It was created to produce and supply cotton yarn. Over the years, it operated under different names, including Adei Abeba Yarn Factory and Addis Izemir Textile.
